About Us

The Boulder Valley Squadron, who's members meet in Boulder, Colorado, is part of America's Boating Club™ also known as "United States Power Squadrons". It is one of America's premier non-profit boating organizations, consisting of approximately 450 Units around the country, whose members represent a passion for boats and boating.

Our boating organization was seeded within the Boston Yacht Club. After the advent of recreational power boats, several of them came to assist distressed yachts after a severe Nor'easter struck a busy regatta of sailors in New England. The United States Power Squadrons was formed in 1914 based on a proposal by Roger Upton, then the Rear Commodore of the Boston Yacht Club.
